Mind and body

In the last decade, the connection between the mind and body has become more fully understood than ever before. The effects of emotional and mental well-being on the immune system are now clear. Therefore we know that if someone heals their emotions and thought patterns, this allows for healing the body. Changes in the mind take place at a cellular level throughout our whole body. This goes some way towards explaining how NLP techniques have helped people overcome debilitating pain and illness.

Allergies

When the body has what we call an allergic reaction, what is happening is that the immune system is 'over reacting' to a stimulus. The unconscious mind sends signals to the immune system and sometimes it doesn't get it quite right. So, when it experiences an 'allergen' such as an insect bite or a type of food, the immune system attempts to protect us and kind of overdoes it! Fortunately, this response can be re-set by asking the immune system to respond in an appropriate way, removing the over-reaction or allergic reaction. And even better, because it's a 'setting' in the body, it is possible to help you let go of allergies you were born with, or that developed during your life.

Stress

Stress is a modern phenomenon that can greatly affect our health. Stress is often a polite word for fear, overwhelm, pressure or worry. Does that feel familiar? 'Stress' is known to weaken the immune system, cause adrenal exhaustion, put pressure on the heart and strain the nervous system. Stress can come from many directions. We can often feel at the mercy of 'stressors' in our lives, like gruelling schedules, difficult relationships or simply watching the 6 'clock news. Chronic stress can lead to both physical and emotional health problems such as:
